Cambridge Venues

There is a city, located in East Anglia; some 50 miles north of London, whose name is synonymous with a single institution recognised the world over. The city is Cambridge and the seat of learning to which it gives its name is a worldwide stamp of academic excellence. A University town if ever there was one but there is more to Cambridge than the historic streets and colleges. The city is a renowned centre for high technology and bears the nickname of Silicon Fen, in honour of this and the fens on which the city is built. Business and science parks also dominate as do a great many Cambridge venues which play host to business, academic and technology conferences, and much more besides.

This is reflected in the many meetings and conferences which benefit from that culture of progress and the Cambridge venues provide the perfect conditions for productivity to thrive.

The city centre has changes little over the centuries, containing some outstanding examples of architecture, most of which is associated with the university colleges. The Cambridge University Library and King's College Chapel are particular city centre landmarks along with Great St.

Mary's Church and the Corn Exchange, which is the largest of the Cambridge venues and stages theatre, dance and music productions. When it comes to corporate facilities and private celebrations such as weddings, the city hotels provide the best choice of venue.

The further away from the city centre the more modern the hotels and developments will be and a greater choice of facilities used for Cambridge venues. Newer hotels will get most of their custom from those in the city on business and will have many business-oriented features as a result, such as computer hire and copy, print and fax facilities. There will be a range of meeting spaces which can be adapted to suit a variety of meeting styles and functions, from 12 around a table for a board meeting to many more in a lecture style.

Package deals are often available for venues and for business meetings and conferences this may be on a half day or full day basis with all associated catering for lunches and tea breaks. Similarly, when hosting a wedding or other special function a venue may offer an essential selection of services such as buffet options for a fixed price, with additional features if required, for example a DJ to get the party going.

The pubs of Cambridge generally form incidental meeting spaces but many also have separate rooms and suites for the purpose and they can make excellent venues for intimate receptions. Again, catering can often be provided as can music or other entertainment. Traditional inns and country style classic hotels are very popular Cambridge venues since they have all the character and facilities of a pub but with accommodation and often outdoor areas for drinks and dining.
